Silicone mold Principle:
Firstly, the prototype part of the product is made by 3D printing or CNC machining, and the liquid silicone raw material of the mold is used for vacuum casting with PU, polyurethane resin, epoxy resin, transparent PU, POM like, rubber like, PA like, PE like, ABS and other materials, in order to replicate the same copy as the prototype part. If there are color requirements, pigments can also be added to the casting materials, and dyeing or painting can be carried out in the later stage of the product to achieve different colors of the parts.
Industry Applications
The silicone mold replication process is widely used in fields such as aerospace, automotive, home appliances, toys, and medical devices. Suitable for the trial production of small batches (20-30 pieces) of samples during the development stage of new products, specifically used for performance testing, vehicle road testing, and other trial production work of small batches of plastic parts in the research and design process of automotive components. Common plastic parts in automobiles, such as air conditioning housings, bumpers, air ducts, rubber coated air doors, intake manifolds, center consoles, instrument panels, etc., can be quickly manufactured in small batches using silicone composite molding technology during the trial production process.
Significant features
- Rapid performance: When the silicone mold has a prototype, it can be made within 24 hours and the product can be poured and replicated.
- Simulation performance: Silicone molds can be made with complex structures and fine patterns, which can clearly outline the fine lines on the surface of the product and reproduce the fine features on the prototype parts very well.
- Demoulding performance: Due to the excellent flexibility and elasticity of silicone molds, for parts with complex structures and deep grooves, the parts can be directly removed after pouring without increasing the draft angle, simplifying the mold design as much as possible.
- Reproduction performance: Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber has excellent simulation performance and extremely low shrinkage rate (about 3 ‰), without losing the dimensional accuracy of the parts. It is an excellent mold material. It can quickly produce 20-30 identical products by using silicone molds.
- Selection range: Silicone composite materials can be widely selected, including ABS like, polyurethane resin, PP, nylon like, rubber like, PA like, PE like, PMMA/PC transparent parts, soft rubber parts (40-90 shore D), high temperature resistant parts, fireproof materials, etc.
